Who is credited with the heirarchy where men, dolphins and apes are above women?

Surely men are responsible for this fancied and pathetic fantasy driven by the male ego.

Men are larger and more physically powerful and have basically run things throughout  history. Run things, that is, as far as we were able to tell. Anthropologists credit the human female with the invention of agriculture; this has to be considered one of the seminal human achievements.

Women have also been manipulating men since we were pre-human.

You tell me who is the superior s*x.

Men created this myth 10,000's of years ago. Their is no direct "author". It is said to go back to the days when we were hunter/gatherers. In these times it would be hard for a pregnant woman, nursing mother or mother of a young child to hunt. With the men bringing in the all important protein, it is thought they had more of a say in how things were run. Although it is also argued that gathering (women's work) was very important too and thing were more equal.

Without playing to anyone's bias, do you have any more information about this supposed hierarchy? I've not heard it before, it doesn't appear very logical, and nothing comes out of a search.
