Who is credited with the saying "All for one & One for all"?

I lost a contest pertaining to the saying

"All for one & one for all"

Nobody will tell me who is credited with the saying!

Would appreciate it if anyone can help me!!

  5. Alexandre Dumas used it as the motto of The Three Musketeers (Athos, Porthos, and Aramis) - that's probably the single most recognized use.

    In Latin it is 'Unus pro omnibus, omnes pro uno' and is the state motto of Switzerland as 'One for All and All for One'.  In German it is 'Einer für alle, alle für einen'

    It was also inscribed as a motto in the 1998 movie 'The Truman Show'
