who will make the playoffs and then win the world series. Here are my thoughts.

Cubs beat brewers 3-1. Angels beat red sox 3-0

Mets beat d-backs 3-2. Rays beat twins 3-2

Mets beat cubs 4-2. Angels beat twins 4-1

Mets beat angels 4-3

Nick H, first off the Brewers and Cubs can't play each other in the 1st round of the playoffs.  Second, the Cubs have all ready beaten Sabathia and Sheets, so there goes that theory.

I donno... I think it's too early to count some teams in the wild card race out. This next month is going to make and break teams. Will the Yankees make a run and make the playoffs for the 14th year in a row? I'm not sure we can count them out just yet, though it doesn't look likely. The Cubs can't face the Brewers in the first round, even if the Brewers win the Wild Card. The Cubs would face the division winning team with the lowest record.

Now for the World Series matchup, Angels vs. Cubs, Road Warriors vs. Defenders of the Homeland.  This would be very interesting.  It would depend on who ends up winning at Wrigley Field.  You'd have the best road team in the majors (Angels are currently 38-21 on the road) versus the best home team in the majors (Cubs are currently 45-17 at home).  The Angels, though not as good at home as the Cubs are at home, are still far superior at home (37-23 home record) than the Cubs are on the road (29-30 road record).  

I think a Cubs/Angels World Series would be an interesting series, but because of the Angels greatness on the road and the Cubs averageness on the road, I say the Angels win in 6, 3 home wins and a road win (Angels taking games 1, 2, 4, and 6), finishing the series in Anaheim.
