yea dion is on the cover but dynasty your right wtf i mean come on zetterberg was in the race for the cover and he had an amazing year and he didnt even get the cover i mean come on wut is that the only game i know the wings had a cover was on nhl hitz 2005??? on of the hitz games and lidstrom was on the cover

Have to agree with JO lol. s***w being on a video game cover, it almost always ends in disaster.  Look at the well established Madden Curse.

NHL 09- Dion Phaneuf- TBA

NHL 08- Jordan Staal, Carolina- didn't even make the playoffs

NHL 07- Ovechkin- Rookie Phenom, unsuccessful team

NHL 06- Vinny Lecavalier- Early playoff exit

NHL 05- Markus Naslund- Vancouver accomplished nothing, then again neither did any team in the NHL.

NHL 04- Dany Heatley- Atlanta is awful, Heatley leaves after tragic car accident and is replaced on further copies of the game by Joe Sakic.

NHL 03- Jarome Iginla- Calgary- Year before the Flames got really good.

NHL 02- Mario Lemieux- Pens miss playoffs for first time in 12 years.

NHL 01- Owen Nolan- San Jose- First round exit in playoffs

If I was Zetts I wouldn't want to be associated with the history of futility attached to sport game covers.  Sure it is all superstition, but there is no denying there is a pattern to the madness.
