Who is going to win? Joe Calzaghe or Bernard Hopkins?

I agree that Calzaghe has never faced a Hopkins before and personally it looks like the Boston guy is absolutely spot on and Ive nothing really to add to that,other than Hopkins has proved himself a truly great champion already,Im not sure you could say the same about Joe and his career because of the calibre of opponents fought  in Britain.

Joe Calzaghe is going to win because he has the easiest path to victory:  keep punching.  Hopkins is 42 or 43, there is no way he can fight a full 12 rounds like Calzaghe can.

What makes this fight interesting is whether or not Hopkins will break though Calz's defense.  Joe, like so many UK boxers, doesn't move his head, except in reaction to a big shot.  That makes him predictable, and I think Bernard is going to try to wing some big shots early to see if Calz is up to taking big shots.  Calzaghe's defense is undeveloped in that manner, as all he's really ever needed was his swarming punches to keep the opposition at bay.  Will Hopkins break through that defense?  That's the big question.  If no, then it's a one sided mis-match, if Bernard can break through, then we'll have some drama.

This is an easy fight to pick, its joe calzaghe easily, calzaghe is faster, younger, and is slicker.  Hopkins just holds and hits, all of his fights are boring, that fight with winky had so many clinches i couldnt belive it, i never really saw bhop and the last fights against taylor twice and winky he was terrible.  Calzaghe is a great fighter, he elevates his game every minute of every round.  Hopkins is a good fighter but now he is too old and dosent have enough speed or power to hurt calzaghe, it will be a dominating UD for joe calzaghe, however i think that the welsh fans will be very excited and i will love to see how he fights in the us.  UD joe calzaghe.

Calzaghe is going to beat Hopkins into his long over due retirement. Hopkins will try to make it an ugly, boring fight as usual. Calzaghe won't be rattled by Hopkins' tactics. He will keep his cool and out box the old man.

I think the weight drop will help his speed, and I think he won't have that much trouble defending this southpaw, even at his age. I understand that Calzaghe is undefeated but so was Hatton and look what happened to him. With the exception of Kessler, who has he beaten that is world class? In the same breath who hasn't Bernard Hokpins beaten that is not world class. He has wins over the biggest names in the sport. The only man to ever stop De la hoya and Trinidad. I don't think Calzaghe has ever seen anything like Hopkins before. Fighting his class B competition in Wales, the only reason he wants to fight Hopkins now is the fact that he's 42 or 43 years old..I still think Hopkins dominates.

He's going to smother Calzaghe all night and hit him with accurate counter punches and frustrate him. By round 10 Calzaghe won't know what to do with himself and that's what BHOP does best.

You  people are making it sound like Calzaghe is 21 years

old..He's 36, thats only 6 years younger than Hopkins. Plus I can assure you Hopkins is much, much slicker than Calzaghe.
