  1. If you were from Saskatchewan you wouldn't need to ask this question!!!!   GO RIDERS GO!!!!!

  2. The last time Winnipeg won a Grey Cup in the city of Toronto goes back to 1962.  The last time Saskatchewan won the Grey Cup it was on November 26, 1989 at a brand new building called the SkyDome.

I believe that the Riders are going to win.

  3. Riders

  4. Looking at some of these answers, I wonder what sport some people have been watching all year.  Winnipeg O A "below average group"????  The best receiving core in the league is not "below average".  Glenn can take some credit, but I have seen "miraculous" catches from these guys.

As well, nobody (except the Bombers) know what Dinwiddie can do.  Obviously they know something, or he wouldn't be around.  As well, can the Riders prepare a defence against an unknown factor?  Not too many films to watch.  I agree that Glenn's injury is a huge blow to the team, but he is only one man...the Bombers have more depth than that. Watch for the rest of the team to put in extra effort to win for the "guy who brought them there".  One way or the other, it should be a classic.

  5. I'll go for Winnipeg

  6. Sask is good.. BUT

winnipeg has been holding the CFL so much this year.

    The defence is AMAZING

even though our main QB is out, our defence wont let them score.

& the backup QB did pretty well

    4 for 4!

  7. Saskatchewan ought to win.

Kevin Glenn is one of the two best quarterbacks in the CFL this year (along with Kerry Joseph).  Now that his arm is broken and he is not playing, a very raw player (effectively a rookie) by the name of Kevin Dinwiddie is starting for Winnipeg.  He was excellent in college but has very limited playing time in the CFL.  I believe he attempted 29 regular season passes although he was 4 for 4 in the Eastern Final.

Winnipeg has a terrific running back by the name of Charles Roberts that will, if effective, give Dinwiddie a little time to figure out the Saskatchewan defense and will take some pressure off him.  Still, he is not very experienced in the CFL.  We do not know how good his game management is.  We do not know how impatient he will be when the Riders are presenting good coverage.  (Henry Burris still throws too many dangerous balls and he has been in the CFL for years.)

Saskatchewan is suffering some injuries but has a solid lineup . The defense is excellent and you can bet that if Roberts doesn't establish himself quickly, the Riders will blitz the heck out of Dinwiddie and try to fluster him.  Meanwhile, the Saskatchewan offense has been, at times, explosive.

Saskatchewan can't take Winnipeg for granted, but a Saskatchewan loss would be a huge upset.

  8. RIDERS!!

  9. Riders all the way this year!!

    Woo - Hoo!

    Go Gang Green!

  10. The men in green of course!

BTW, could everyone take a look-see at my latest question? I need some help there. Thanks.

  11. wng should win.

sask has a good chance of winning, so bet the tie.  lol :)

  12. The Winnpeg D will have to play the games of their lives for the Bombers to have any chance at all.  Losing Glenn made the Bomber O a below average group because Dinnwiddy has almost no game experience.

    I pick the Riders 24 - 17.

  13. I like how the Riders fan lists Glenn and Joseph as the top two QBs when Henry Burris had more touchdown passes than both of them, and was second to Glenn in passing yardage.  Joseph's nomination as Western MOP was a real head-scratcher when both Burris and Joe Smith were more deserving.  But of course, he broke your hearts, so I wouldn't expect Rider Nation to acknowledge Burris' accomplishments.

That being said, the Riders do have the advantage at QB with Glenn injured, and they're solid 11 point favourites in this matchup.  Unless Dinwiddie's got the Bombers running the Statue of Liberty play in practice, their offence will likely come up short.  I'll be cheering for Winnipeg, but I'd put money on Saskatchewan if I were a betting man.
