  1. i have $200.00 to win on 3 horses......

    big brown-10/1

    col.john.....-14-1

    bob black jack-50-1

    ==============================

    so for $600.00..

    big brown.....$2,200

    col.john.....$3,000

    bob black jack.....$10,000

  2. My horse has been pyro since the end of last year. He is bred to runa mile and a quarter. He has an excelent turn of foot. go to youtube and watch the 2008 risen star stakes. Coming into the stretch he was last and boxed in. he mad an excellent move to the center of the track and won handily. one of the best come from behind wins i have ever seen. I'd also throw in smooth air. bennie stutts is a real horseman and this is his chance to win the big one. hes a good longshot

  3. Anyone but Big Brown. He's fast.  But he's very inexperienced and is going to have a tough time in a field of 20.  Also, his feet could be a problem on Derby Day.

I like Colonol John and Bob Black Jack if they can handle the dirt.

But, I wouldn't dismiss Pyro, Visionaire, Tale of Ekati, Monba or Adriano.

  4. Its "Big Browns" to lose, If you look at the Fractions of the Florida

Derby, He's the LONE "F" front runner since War Pass is OUT.

    BIG BROWN SET THESE FRACTIONS.

    22:3, 45:4, 1:10,  1:35:1,  FINAL= 1:48:1

My Top Three: 1. BIG BROWN 2. Tale of Ekati 3.(TIE)  Monba, Pryo, Eight Belles

My LONG SHOT= Salute the Sarge

If you don't think he's a front runner, please look at his only (3)three races, see web site:" Watch and Learn".

  5. I would say Big Brown now that War Pass is out...

And you will get a good price on him too.

  6. Anyone other than Tale of Ekati.

Reasoning: I like Tale of Ekati alot, and am thinking of betting more than I probably should on him. I haven't picked a Derby winner since Sea Hero.

  7. My preference is Bob Black Jack..wire to wire with Big Brown second, third the field overall in the tri...

Ya just can not whip a world record holder at 3/4 mile speed unchallenged speed wins

  8. Big Brown is not a front runner (needed to clarify this before I get it out).

At this point the Derby gets very, very confusing. We have a boatload of horses, only a few of which have anything going for them and all of which have something big going against them. I'd say that the best money would be on an underrated horse like Gayego or Tale of Ekati, who will go off at odds around 15-1, but as to the best horse is period, that is very subjective.

    I'd pick from this list:

    Eight Belles (if she runs)

    Colonel John

    Gayego

    Pyro

    Big Brown

Though I may be missing a couple.

This is a situation where no horse can win (though technically one has to).

Note that Pyro has a significant sprinting lineage (although there is a large distance lineage as well); he is not specifically bred for a mile and a quarter (though I suspect that he would perform best from 8-11 furlongs). Also - I think the Risen Star performance was overrated. The time was incredibly slow - 1:44 and change, which means that Pyro had a huge amount of gas left nearing the finish. When a race is run like it's on the grass, it tends to end like it's on the grass.
