  1. MJ, even though Kobe is going to be one of the bests to ever play the game, lets see if he can get some more rings, but till then MJ.

  2. im rooting for kobe, but mj (in his prime years) was, and still is, the best, meaning that kobe still has some time to go before he gets the right of being called the best

  3. MJ....

  4. I gotta say kobe. he is the only one close to jordans level and only one that can be compared to him. i think skill wise he is better but lacks the leadership and accomplishments that jordan had.

  5. KOBE!

  6. Neither Lebron "the king" James will be the best player of all time.

  7. On basketball skills alone, it would be close but I wouldn't be surprised if Kobe Bryant took it.  But I wouldn't be surprised if Jordan kept it either.

But overall, I suspect Michael Jordan would still have more respect than Kobe; and often that, combined with excellent basketball skills, is enough to keep it for the player.

Kobe is going to have to maintain and even be better for a long time to overcome the scandal of his career and still be considered the best.

  8. MJ right now, MJ always. Michael Jordan will always be better than Kobe.

  9. can't answer that till kobe actually retires. what if kobe goes on to win 4 more rings... thats one ring more than jordan. will that alone make him better?

    anyhooo... thats my answer.

  10. MJ is a legend and two other players in his class, Dr.J and Connie Hawkins were ABA and Hawkins (the best player I ever saw) was banned from the league for years.  I thought Kobe had the chance this year to equal MJ by lifting the club to the next level. He failed.

Best of all time is a trick question as there are so many players we never saw play.  For pure excitment...MJ.

If you are counting rings then it is MJ and if not it is Wilt Chamberlain.

The NBA had to change the rules because of what Chamberlain could do. Goaltending and changed the width of the lane to start with..  Rookie of the Year and MVP in the same season.  Owns nearly every offensive and defensive record.  Played on the Laker team that won a NBA record, 33 in a row in 71-72. That team was 69-13 and later topped by MJs 72-10 Bulls.

    Fun Question!

  11. mj, kobes not getting close to jordan.  i dont see how hes going to even be close to having the accomplishments jordan had.

i would say lebron has a better chance.

hes not matching or surpassing mjs career stat line thats for sure.

  12. actually, LeBron James

MJ will be the 2nd best player of all-time by then

and Kobe will retire as one of the top five, possibly third

  13. I say Kobe
