More than 70% of the people say drill now. Do we need to fire our elected officials ? WE are THEIR bosses. Will we ever be able to take back our country ?

  1. The biggest influence for our elected officials are the Lobbiests. The special interests, and the lobby's, some of which work for foreign countries, even our enemies. Most of the lobbiests are former elected officials. They work for a Lobby firm. The special interests and foreign countries hire the lobby firm to pursuade our elected officials to vote the way that is best for them-not us. In return they make hugh donations to the campaign funds of our elected officials. Bill Clinton was pursuaded to pardon a murder by such a Lobby Firm. We need to insist they rid washington of the special interests and lobbiests. Why do you think congress has done nothing about the credit card companies who are fleecing americans-they  hire a lobby firm and nothing is done. It is so sinister and unethical and yet it continues. Do you think Opec wants to to become self sufficient with oil? Absolutely not, they want us dependent. We send Opec more every day than we spend on the war. The democratic majority in congress do not want to act when it comes to drilling-probably because of some Lobby firm pursuading them not to. And that would be a firm Opec hired. No we are no longer in charge of our country. We can take it back by our votes and voice our opposition the the special interests and lobby firms in washington.

  2. We are suppose to be but, someone needs to tell Congress. they pay us and our wishes no attention at all.  The citizen will have to band together and Storm Washington to even get their attention.. and this is so wrong. They should be on top of what we voted them in  to do. God help us.

  3. Yep, we need to fire Congress. We can 'take back our country' by just voting. If an elected official is not upholding the will of the people, then next election, vote for someone else. It wouldn't take too many elections until they would start respecting and listening to the people again. But we do need to vote. Only 30% of the registered voters actually go out and vote. If the other 70% would vote, it would make a big difference in the outcome of an election.

  4. We live in a Constitutional Republic.

Take it back from whom - those we elected?

  5. The people don't run this country. Congress runs it. Sure you can vote and suggest some laws but congress says if they are constitutional or not. Congress also controls the president. The only thing people do is vote and suggest laws thats it whille congress syas if its ok to go to war, pass laws, overrun the president and waaay more.

  6. The people better be in charge of this place. I say s***w the elected officials; they make things worse in my opinion. I mean, look at what all the presidents and look at what the each did in their time of rule. Look at the world now when Bush is in the white house. Bush has all this power, but he is selfish. We have people dying and/or in pain in the world everyday; we have people dying and/or in pain here in America, the "greatest country ever". On top of that we have had this fight with the Middle East for a long while with troops wanting to go home and stay for a while with their freinds and families; so why can't we leave Iraq to the Iraqians so that we can focus on other things like healthcare, education, gang violence, and etc. ANARCHY!!!!

  7. This is why we need to make sure you get out there and vote! Not just for President, but for your Congressmen/women and Representatives! Another way is to write all the elected politicians and let them know how we feel.

We are a government of the people, for the people, by the people! We are in charge!

God Bless America and Her People!

    God Bless Our Brave Troops!

  8. the rich and powerful, as it has been in other countries for centuries

  9. Neither. Businesses are in charge. The government is more of a puppet show these days.

  10. We have finally reached the point where our elected representatives represent only the needs of the people as interpreted and expressed by the media arm of the DNC and nothing sort of an armed revolutions is going to change it.

  11. We can take back our country by firing all the officials in Washington and elect who?

It looks grim  to me, Will.

  12. "Government of the people, for the people and by the people" is what it is supposed to be...........right?   Can we honestly say this is true today?   Sure looks like things are not right somehow.  Americans need to get off their complacent duffs and get rid of the leeches in control - and put human beings in their place.
