Who is in the lead for the presidential election?

i know i probably should watch the news but it puts me to sleep :)

Actually, the polls indicate a tie. Surprising, given the "mainstream media" fawning over Obama, isn't it?

The election is determined by  the electoral college not the popular vote. At the moment Obama is solidly ahead and likely to remain so.

The last I saw Obama has leading by more than the margin of error in states with 260 votes with 270 needed to elect. Mc Cain had 184 with the rest to close to call.

It's a dead heat right now, that that will change after the presidential debates.
