Who is it going to be this time? Dallas Mavericks or Miami Heat: NBA Finals 2011
The game-6 of the NBA Finals 2011, between the streaking Dallas Mavericks and the under pressure Miami Heat will be played at the American Airlines Arena on Sunday night. Dallas is a victory away from becoming the champions as
they will be looking forward to continue the winning streak and clinch their first NBA title whereas Miami will be searching some support from their home crowd to keep their hopes alive for the title fight.
Two players from both the teams who want to have their first championship ring more than anyone are Dirk Nowitzki and LeBron James. Mavericks’ influential shooter Nowitzki had a phenomenal series against the Heat and received all
the appreciation while Miami’s small forward James is facing all the criticism as the things go wrong for the team.
“That's just a part of the game if you're the star or the face of the franchise. If you win, it's great for you, and everybody looks at you. And if you lose, you're going to get hammered. It's just part of the business. I think
we understand that, we've been around long enough. I got the hammered the last 13 years, basically. So hopefully this year I can make the hammering go away for a year." Nowitzki said.
The 32-year-old Nowitzki has been striving to furnish an NBA title in his resume since more than a decade. Since 2000-2001 season, the All-Star Dirk guided the Mavericks into the play-offs consistently however he failed to land
the title. In 2006, Dallas managed to make it into the Finals where Miami Heat crushed their hopes in the game-6 and won their first championship. This time, the Mavericks carry the chance and they can treat them the same way to nab the honour.
Fuelled with the determination to procure the NBA title, Nowitzki said, "We're one win away from my dream, what I've worked on for half my life. This is really all I'm worried about; this is all I'm focusing on, and not really
the off-the-court stuff that happened."
On the other hand, Miami is struggling big time in the series against the Dallas Mavericks as one of their superstars is hampered by the opposition. The two-time Most Valuable Player (MVP) Champions James has failed to impress
for the first time in his seven years of domination which went down to the worst performance of his career in the game-4 with only 8 points.
Even though, LeBron had a triple-double in the last meeting however the All-Star scored only 17 points as he is known to run the offensive system of the team. Now is the time for James to recover from his struggle and bring Miami
back in the contention as the Mavericks are determined to finish it up on Sunday night.
If Heat manages to force the series to the seventh game, the pressure will be on the Mavericks than considering Miami’s home-court advantage and immense support from the fans. Saying this, the Mavericks won’t leave any option on
Sunday for Heat to gain advantage whereas the Heat won’t be losing any option to save themselves from the elimination.
