Who is leading 2011 Major League Baseball season in Runs - Part-2
Curtis Granderson leading the list with 113 runs of his 459 at-bats, including 34 home-runs with .281 batting averages and .590 slugging averages. Jose Bautista chasing furiously with 90 runs on 124 hits of 393 at-bats, which include some game winning performances,
there are some batters who are striving hard to get past these massive hitters.
Jacoby Ellsbury
The Boston Red Sox Jacoby Ellsbury now has snatched the third place from the New York Mets short-stop Jose Reyes. The left-hander batter is just one run short of Bautista and hunting for the second place with his granular hits, even in extreme pressure situations.
The 27-year-old batter has scored 89 runs on 158 hits of 505 at-bats. Although his place is under criticism because of his big number of at-bats, he has maintained his position with one of the lowest strikeouts-78 in 2011 regular season.
He has also hammered 22 home-runs, 31-second bases and 3 third bases to justify his spot among great baseball players, which include the Yankees’ Derek Jeter and the Los Angeles Dodgers' Matt Kemp. He is enjoying .313 batting averages and .517 slugging averages.
He now have to make his line drive technique little better to surpass the Bautista, who has scored 90 runs on just 393 at-bats. According to baseball experts, Ellsbury could ever cross Bautista because the Jays’ slugger has made his technique the best one
in the majors.
Ian Kinsler
The American League western club, Texas Rangers has made some extraordinary comebacks in this season. These rebounds were associated with one of the top players of the 2011 regular season and the batter has shown the opponents his class with coarse hits
and earth-shattering home-runs.
The Texas Rangers’ second baseman Ian Kinsler, entering to his fifth year in the majors, created some game winning performances in his 121 games. He played 484 at-bats and scored 86 runs on 119 hits, including 20 home-runs to secure the fourth position in
this season. He has also produced perfection in the grounder that led him to 31-second bases in the ongoing extravagant season.
The right-hand batter has .246 batting averages and .446 slugging averages to prove him as one of the strongest slugger of this season. The Arizonian is not good in RBI generating as he has made only 58 over his 158 hits. However, the young energetic hurler
did not let the pitchers get to him so frequently. He had received only 59 strike-outs calls throughout the season so far.
Ryan Braun
The Milwaukee Brewers heroic batter Ryan Braun occupies the last position in the list of top five run scorers of the 2011 season. The right-hand batter has scored 85 runs on 139 hits of his 425 at-bats of 115 games. He has a good record in RBIs that moved
to 80 when he earned two more in the last game on Saturday August 20.
The 4-years veteran hurler has stolen 28-second bases and four third bases while has faced only 48 walks. He has launched 24 home-runs to be one of the top home-run scorers of the season.
His .327 batting averages stand him little different from the other top run scorers. He is leading the other four sluggers in averages and holding the second place in OPS after Jose Bautista’s 1.096.
All above-mentioned players have played vital roles in some special wins of the 2011 regular season.
NOTE: This ranking shows records until the end of the August 20, 2011.
