Who is leading the track and field gold medals?

I was just wondering who is in first place for gold medals in track and field?

I cant find the chart thing for just track and field,so if you have a link that would be great,thanx.

Jeff in Dallas and the question asker, do you guys represent what Americans are made of today? From what I read from Chinese press, that said not only Chinese press in China but also other foreign Chinese media like Singapore, Taiwan and HongKong, Chinese people are pretty glad that American athletes have done great and give plenty praise to Phelps wining 8 golds.

If America is ever going to lose its state of superpower one day, it will not be due to others overtaking, indeed it will be because whining and illogical people like you two. After all, it is the people who make of a country. No wonder majority in the States thinks invading Iraq and supporting Arabian monarchies to secure your country's oil supply is wrong.

The Olympics are over.  The U.S. won the most gold medals in athletics.

Jeff in Dallas: I can't believe I always have to say this.  China always dominates diving and they've always have a very good men's gymnastics team.  If you knew anything about diving and gymnastics, scoring and history, then you would realize that there is absolutely no debate about any of the medals China has won other than women's gymnastics.  To criticize these medals would mean you are handing back Paul Hamm's gold medal first, because that one actually stirred up controversy.  But no one can deny China any of its gold medals other than women's gymnastics for any reason.

Think before you talk, before you embarrass your peers and country.

EDIT: Because they've never done well in athletics.  It's quite obvious from their history.  That doesn't mean they did well these Games in men's gymnastics and diving because of judging though, it just happened to be that they're a powerhouse in both of those categories, and they almost maximized their gold medal count in those two by sheer performance.

The question was who is leading, and that is the U.S.  But don't bring the judging into the question, because that's not why China won their gold medals in diving and men's gymnastics.

Yoda, I agree with you.  The underage Chinese Gymnasts outperformed the Americans in the all-around and a few other events.  I only disgreed with one or two judgements and that's fairly normal.  I didn't watch any diving because I just don't care for it.  I'm sure it was judged fairly and Chinese and others deserved their medals.  Hamm's medal was wrong.  The embarassment on the global stage in these Olympics was the Chinese Government, as you can see by reports in the worldwide media, if you have access to it uncensored.  .Now, let's talk about how we all  did in track and field, which was the question.  Maybe you can explain why China did so poorly.
