  1. come on now!this question is getting boring.the last time i answered it ,i had 11 points deducted because i insulted all you league fans.someone went crying to yahoo and reported me.im going to say this again but in a more toned down fashion.OK.i think that league is a boring, softie version of rugby.union is REAL rugby.league is for those who are scared of getting a few bruises and scratches.and for all you league people out there that think union is only for the upper class snobs in this world;try looking a little furthur than your own back yard,to countries like south africa, new zealand, australia and many other places, where rugby is very much the sport of the common man.get your facts straight.

  2. Maars Attacks is spot on. Leagie fans need only to look at the matches played this weekend to see whos more famous. In the League Tri-Nation game played this weekend featuring the Kangaroos v Great Britain (the top two league nations) the stadium was not even a quarter full..what was there..2 people?

On the other scale, the Wallabies v Wales game (in Wales) had 75000 spectators. On an international scale, League is scrapping for a mention..Union on the other hand is right up there (our World Cup is in the top four biggest sporting events of the world, League..um..Leagies please help me out here with some stats).

Forget the social class excuse that Leagies have been using for the past 100yrs..they have nothing better to do than hang on to the past as their future is quite bleak. As for Union, the future looks bright and we shall remain more popular, more famous and more prestigious than our sister code.

P.S The World Cup is only months away.

  3. Depends who you ask and where they are from.

Middle class posh stuck-up folk with funny voices who live in nice leafy comfortable areas and complain about the neighbours brining the value of their area down...they like Union.

    Ordinary folk like League.

Additionally, Union has only become even vaguely popular as a spectator sport since it sold out its whole raison d'etre and became fully professional, thereby accepting what League knew for 100 years.

Union internationals are simply excuses for corporate binges, they are not for ordinary fans.

Despite the enormous media bias towards Union, League continues to draw huge crowds. Union crowds at club matches are traditionally pitiful.

Also, the best Union players are always those who have transferred from League...which simply proves that the ball handling skills and physical demands of League are far superior. At least Union officials no longer ban League players for life, which is what used to happen until only ten years ago.

  4. Union is the original game, league was only developed later by people who were to c**p to play union. Union has much more skill involved whereas rugby league all they do is run at people until they fall down.

Union is by far the more famous of the 2 being played by more countries round the world and having a world cup with countries from every continant participating. 82 000 were at Twickenham at the weekend how many have been at the Tri Nations games. 3??

  5. rugby union of course and i think it has more tradition too.

  6. Union is boring

the union fans are even more boring then there crappy game

    RUGBY LEAGUE

  7. Slow, Boring, Soft, Unskillfull = Union

Fast, Entertaining, Tough, Skillfull = League.

Union is just a free for all with no control whatsoever,

Union is for men who like to rub each others bottoms.

  8. Rugby Union is the only game. Rugby league is a hybrid of 'touch' football and rugby union, and it is supported by the working classes. It is a working class sport, and everything is geared around what working-class people like - chain smoking, drinking too much beer, S****y food, S****y clothes and lots of poorly spoken English (if you could call it that) and to top it all off, at half-time, they play really loud, bad 80s music. League is a trashy game for trashy people, but Rugby on the other-hand is steeped in tradition, run by Kings, supported by Gods and blessed by Angels and its players at the highest level are more athletic than footballers: angelic in their deftness, quite awesome in their power and magnificent in their approach and with it all, they are as hard as bloody nails. League players on the other hand are very, very one-dimensional, just like the people who invented the game. One thing you must understand though, if you're going to go down that dull Rugby league road, it is important to know that the Australian State of Origin competition is the best you will find. Anywhere. You won't be disappointed!
