Who is more patriotic?

I have three yellow ribbons (support our troops!) and two redwiteblue ribbons on my bag, two flag pins, and my dad drives a truck (red). My friend Becky has only ONE yellow ribbon, a PINK ribbon, NO flag pins, but she has a button that says "God bless America." So she says she is MORE patriotic.!!

AND I heard from my mom that Beckys neighbor's dad said that he wasnt sure he agree with Bush (the PRESIDENT) on the war.

We have been argueing but I think its obvious: I AM MORE PATRIOTIC then her! You agree?

  1. Next time the notice for jury duty comes; simply put a statement regarding all those magnets, ribbons and paraphenalia along with a statement about the size of your flag and see if that counts as your patriotic duties--let's see what happens.

Jury duty pay is equivalent to about fifty cents an hour, not including parking in all States.

  2. Patriotism isnt based on ribbons and bows and pins. It's based on how much you support your country with what you do and say! I am ex military, but that doesn't make me more patriotic than you! I believe in this country and will fight for it, also I don't support the war either. It went completely the wrong way of what it was supposed to. We were supposed to be searching for A terrorist not rebuilding another country!!

  3. BIG BOSS

  4. Which one of you is going to join the military first?

  5. Of course you're more patriotic.  You are obviously the better consumer.  Many more ribbons and things and your dad uses more fuel.  The more you spend the better our economy is and that is good for the country.  SHOP ON!

  6. This obviously isn't a serious question...

  7. Patriotism has nothing to do with how many flags or pins you have.  Its about supporting your nation, protecting its rights, honoring its laws and traditions (like the pledge of allegence, handling the US flag, etc.), supporting our soldiers, voting, and volunteer for your country (political office, civil service, military service, etc.)  Just to name a few examples.

  8. Funny.

  9. Being patriotic has nothing to do with having ribbons on your car and supporting a war, dumbass.

  10. neither... the true patriots of this country are the ones that are fighting this war for you and I!!!!

  11. Ribbons and cars, and pins and arguments do not make you patriotic.

Have you done anything substantial to show your patriotism? Written any letters to servicemembers? volunteered at any homeless shelters?

Seems like all you two are doing to be "patriotic" is argue more about it. This does not make you patriotic. Being a patriot requires you to do more than squabble selfishly with your friend.

EDIT- If you do these things you claim (after editing your question) you should have told us in the first place. Now it just looks suspect.

  12. Sounds like you all need a life!

it's nice that you support the troops with Yellow ribbons, and flags and such--

But seriously--donating time to help out at the USO--or donating money to help injured troops or their families--would be a lot better than adding MORE ribbons and FLAGS.

Don't get me wrong--Flags and Ribbons are important--in fighting the NEGATIVES that are spewed at the troops from the LEFTIES.----But don't over due the frilly stuff.

A flag for your counrty, and a ribbon for each of your friends--that is all you need to show support.---but Thanking a troop or volunteering to help them does a lot more.

IN DALLAS--there is a group of people that go to the AIRPORT and WELCOME the TROOPS home--Clapping and shaking their hands as they leave the airport.
