  1. You can't judge using general groups, like someone said before it depends on the athlete. MMA fighters are going in there and have alot more options to lose/win unlike boxers. But still I respect both for what sport they are in. If a boxer was to go against a mma fighter, then what rules would they use? Boxing or MMA? That has to be taken into consideration as well. Its hard to say, interesting question but very hard to actually answer. I'm bias towards MMA anyways so its not like I'll take the boxers side.

  2. There are stand outs of good and bad examples for both boxing and MMA. A lot would argue that top boxers like Mike Tyson, Andrew Golota and Oliver McCall have shown a lack of mental strenghth or a number of other boxers have shown lack of physical strength. One could also use Tank Abbott, Tim Sylvia, and a number of other popular MMA stars to make reverse arguements.  The truth is you are going to have highs and lows in any athletic endeavor and some athletes are more gifted in one particular area than another. It would be wrong to categorize one whole discipline as physically or mentally weaker or stronger than another. Interesting question but it is hard to answer unless you are comparing two specific individual fighters. To speak in general of the two sports I don't think a fair evaluation can be made.

  3. I don't think there is a boxer alive that can beat an MMA fighter if they are of the same weight. An MMA  fighter has more stamina, can use any part of his body to damage a boxer who, let's face it, is only one dimensional. Try and get me to believe that the toughest MMA fighter in the world, Fedor Emelienko from Russia, couldn't beat any of those "subpar"  Heavyweight Champion boxers that exist today. He could probably beat any of the champions by boxing them alone, never mind having to use his grappling abilities.

  4. MMA are more well rounded yes, does this make them physically stronger? You could definately argue that, but I'm undecided. Mental strength again I'm undecided, the reason? MMA fighters have to think about more factors i.e. being taking down, boxers have to think about keeping their hands up finding their range etc

  5. it is not the sytem that makes the fighter but the fighter that makes the system.

    now go home and practice.

  6. I think it is even. It takes skill, heart, and stamina to lace up gloves or go bare fist. I respect both arts and I am a new fan to MMA. Both can coexcist.

  7. mma fighter. they take more punishment than boxers bcus mma gloves r so thin and the dont just take punches they take kicks to the face arm-breaking arm bars and getting fliped on their back. mma is the toughest sport in this order 1.mma 2.rugby 3. boxing 4. football. and physically i also think generally mma fighters are more muscular bcus the need to use more than arms. i love to watch both though

  8. As a group, neither is stronger mentally.  Individually, some MMA fighters are mentally stronger then boxers, and some boxers are mentally stronger than MMA fighters.
