Who is more talented overall: Kurt Cobain or Dave Grohl?

Kurt could sing, write songs and play guitar

Dave can sing, play bass, guitar, but when he drummed for Nirvana he said he didn't like to write but now he writes songs so... I'm just wondering what you all think

dave definately.  he has range, and he doesn't have to get high or drunk to write and/or play.

Kurt Cobain.

I know Dave Grohl plays more instruments, and stuff.

I think Kurt Cobain has a better song writing skill, and was more creative.

Kurt Cobain had more deep, artistic lyrics.

Vocal wise Kurt is more talented too.

Dave Grohl is a great musician though.

I think if Kurt wasn't so doped up on heroin. He could have put more heart into it. I think they are even.

Just Kurt had more catchier songs.

After all how can you compare someone who began a new genre of music?

Dave for sure.  I think, not to be totally mean, but Kurt wasn't a 'legend' until he killed himself. Think about it.  Dave has done so much more, since he lived, to acheive a lot more things that Kurt, and he's extremely talented.

I'm going to go with Kurt, but only because I connect with his music more. No, that doesn't mean that I'm angry all of the time, but he is just so genuine and real. Technically, Dave is probably the better musician.

Kurt. Technically it should be Dave, right, since he can play two more instruments ... but I just think Kurt came off as a more genuine and soulful songwriter and frontman. Nirvana was and still is iconic. And if you think that he was battling drugs & depression during the peak, I reckon Kurt's the winner here ;)

Dave. Don't get me wrong! Kurt is an amazing singer, songwriter, and average guitar player, but Dave's music is a lot happier, I guess, and that's why I think his music is better.

Well id have to say dave due to the fact he can play the drums and to my knowledge Kurt doesn't.

But Vocal wise Cobain has him.Cobain sounds like a mix of rock and country,It's so great it's addicting.

Wow, I've never really thought of it. Although people go on about Cobain's talent alot more, when it comes down to it, Grohl is more talented.

I'd go for Dave Grohl. Due to the amount of instruments he can play compared to the late Kurt Cobain and for the sucess of the Foo Fighter's after Nirvana.

kurt cobain. his music is personal and deep, he established a solid connection with his audience. dave's music seems to lack that intimate and real experience. although nirvana's music is really simple, i'd like to consider cobain more talented. his songs can be interpreted and misinterpreted in so many ways... nirvana is just a better overall experience than the foo fighters.
