Question:

Who is my best bet to go with for a roth ira?

ive been looking lately into getting a roth ira, but im a newby at this investing stuff, who is my best bet to sign on with , fidelity, t rowe price or vanguard, how would i approach this task being green, any info would be helpful, thanx

  1. I like Vanguard because they have low fees on their funds.  

    Compare what funds they have available, fees, minimum balances, and minimum contribution amounts.  Also check what their stock trading commissions are, if you're going to be trading stocks.

    I would choose what you want to invest in first, and then choose the company based on that.


  2. You might want to stay away from the stock market until things settle down.

    You can open an account anywhere.  Green might create some unique problems for you though.

    Would you be interested in  a place without downside risk, and aggressive gains?

  3. All the companies you've mentioned are very good.

    I like the T. Rowe Price "target" funds the best (of this group).

    Vanguard is the cheapest.... but they concentrate on index funds....... some people think that's best. I'm less inclined.
