I'm just curious is it the supporter's of the club that pays for the air fares, court procedures etc or is it the NRL and the media?

  1. As far as I aware it has not been spelled out who is picking up the tab.  However as the NRL are backing the Bulldogs to the hilt I am sure that they will pick up a large portion of the bill.  The future of their product is on the line so they would be silly not to help out.

Wonder who's picking up SBW's bills?  If he gets a judgement against him he will presumably have his costs plus the Bulldogs and the NRL's costs as well.  I hope he has been stashing some away for this ...

  2. Chuck Norris

  3. The NRl I suppose. they should just drop the matter and move on.  the only reason they're doing this is that the NRL don't want any more players going to Union.

  4. I'm going to say both. The Bulldogs are the ones taking him to court, with the backing of the NRL.  I'm sure the NRL will pick up some of the bill, because they don't want to see other players do the same.  If it's unsuccessful, and players start jumping ship, they'd be out a job too!!!

  5. As far as I am aware it is the club taking the legal action. The NRL is supportive of Canterbury but whether they will contribute funds to fight the court case is another question. I doubt it. It could open a Pandora's Box with any future contract disputes.

The other concern with costs is that if a court case eventuates in France and the Dogs lose it they will be up for heaps.
