If you think Bill Gates is the richest man in the world, think again because he isn’t anymore. After 13 straight years at the top of the list Gates has been dethroned by his best mate Warren Buffet. Buffet has shot to number one with a net worth of $62 billion as his company Berkshire Hathaway share price has performed well over the past year, on the other hand Gates stock in Microsoft declined with its’ bid for Yahoo, leaving him in 3rd place with $58 billion. At No. 2 is Mexican telecom tycoon Carlos Slim Helú, with an estimated net worth of $60 billion, up 120% in value over the past year. However, I don’t think Gates is losing any sleep over his delegation on the list with $58 billion in his pocket and if anything he might be back at number one next year if Microsoft's bid for Yahoo is successful.
