I am convinced thar everything that Iran says and does, is at the behest of someone else. The Iran regime ia an obedient puppet, but for whom? And why now?

  1. Russia.  Tat's where they get all of their weapons.  Russia definately.  North Korea probably puts their hand in his back every now and then too though...

  2. PLEASE READ - YOU WILL SEE IT MAKES SENSE

The matter is being driven by Israel. They are frightening themselves. They are very concerned that Iran will do what they did  -  develop nuclear weapons secretly.

Israel knows that it can be done secretly, and they are getting paranoic about it.

They have treated the Palestinians so badly that they fear revenge attacks. Israel fears an Arab state having nuclear weapons. The fact is, if Arab nations wanted to make a nuclear strike on Israel, the fallout would affect the Palestinians, probably all of them - the very people whose lives the conflict is about.

Not only that, but unlike the USSR v USA rivalry, who are on different continents, Israel and the other middle eastern states are all  quite close together. The fallout and subsequent drift of radiation would not be limited to Israels borders, it would affect large parts of the region, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, Egypt, Syria and Iraq. Imagine Virginia was a hostile independant state from the rest of US. Do you think it would make sense for Illinois to make a nuclear strike, when it would contaminate the surrounding states, and may even drift back to Illinois itself.

So Israel's nervousness is not justified. If there was a war, conventional weapons would be used, not nuclear. Iran is has publicly stated they do not believe they need nuclear weapons in the region.

It would be better if Israel treated the Palestinians with some respect and tried to get along with it's neighbours. Easily said I know - but that's what has to happen.

Reply to Questioner's Additional Comment: I'm not sure I understand your point. When have Iran threatened the US? I have only heard them say they will defend themselves.

In short - what I observe is Iran reacting only to threats that it receives. And it seems that it is Israels fear, which manifests itself as threats, that is driving the stand off rather than Iran - who don't seem to be doing anything wrong to me.

  3. Probably Russia.

Why now? It's because they know that the U.S. is stretched thin, and that the people of this country are sick of invading countries, flattening them, and then policing that country which inevitably creates more terrorists sadly.

Plus, they realize that the U.S. will flatten Iran instead of just attacking the necessary parts. By creating another Iraq situation, our military will be weaker, the people of this country will be even more outraged, and the financial strains will throw our society into a Second Great Depression.

That's why they want to do it now.

Sadly, I believe that the U.S. will take this bait instead of A.) Letting a fully capable Israel take care of them or B.) Just bombing their military bases/other areas that house their nuclear program.
