When I was about 7 years old, my school went to a Native-American convocation in Sacramento, CA. While I was walking around with my family, a smiling Navajo woman came up to me and placed her hand on my head.
She told me "Don't worry atsa-beyaz. Bee-al do shush will come to help you." then she hugged me and said something to my teacher and walked away.
I've since learned that Atsa-beyaz means "Little eagle" and Bee-al do shush means "Big Bear."
I felt sick the next day, but I don't know if that had anything to with the old woman.
So, my question is...Who is this "Big Bear" she told me about?
This was about 25 years ago and it has confounded me ever since.
