Ok so i have this movie on my itunes that i wanna burn onto a disc, so i can watch it on a dvd player.

Will it work if i burn it, and then use it with a dvd player?

If it's a movie you downloaded from the itunes store then to the best of my knowledge it is protected by Apple with drm and it is not possible to burn it.

The best thing to do is to type "itunes burn to dvd" into google and have a look at some of the sites that google returns. They are mostly forums discussing this topic.

yes, you need to do it with 2 steps.

(1) remove Apple DRM protection from iTunes (M4v, M4p, MP4) legally by converting iTunes to unprotected mp4 format firstly,

(2) Burn resulting file to DVD.
