Oil producers, refiners, speculators, etc. How many fingers are in the pie and how much does each get?

  1. The largest dominant part of the price about 50% goes to the crude oil producer and nother 15%-205 goes to the refineries.. In the US, the Govt. gets about 10%-11%, in India, the Govt takes about 25%- 30% in taxes. The rest is distributed among the gasoline supp;y companies, transporters and retial gas pump stations (105-15%).


  2. The biggest winner is the Government., in the form of taxes. As much as 45-50 cent per gallon.

    The oil companies make about 8 to 10c net profit per gallon.
