In class we have been learning about genocide but no one can agree on who is most responsible for preventing it. There are many different groups of people like the government and the UN who I think should have a duty but are there others who should be responsible for preventig genocide. What can anyone do and why should they? If anyone has any sugestions I would be very grateful.

  1. Well I know who promotes genocide...those who support death at any age of development (in our country that would be liberals).  There are over 4000 children slaughtered per day just in our country under the disguise of "choice".  We have not learned from our history to value life at all stages of development.  Other countries that perform genocide have the EXACT same mentality and logic (or lack thereof) as those who are pro-abortion (disguised as "Pro-Choice") in this country.  Read up on the ugliness and you'll see how terrible this genocide is and how many non-profits (planned parenthood, even though they receive some of my tax dollars) and governments promote this genocide under "gentle" terms to describe what is horribly done to these children.

  2. Its not just the holocaust, there is Rawanda, and like millions of places in south america. And its everyones responsibility. You cant just blame it on one person thats just wrong its my fault as much as its your fault, and your fault and your fault. Its everyones fault.

  3. The potential Victims.

  4. We are all responsible for the prevention of mass kiliing or genocide. Our responsibilities towards one another as human beings both morally and ethically should provide guidance on an individual and national scale. In Germany in the 1930s when man A first said to man B "lets get rid of the gypsies and jews" instead of saying good idea man B should have been appalled. To think that this attitide then consumed a whole nation is truly terrifying and we should make every effort to learn from this horror. Unfortunately until we learn respect tempered with understanding and compassion for all people this horrendous crime will go on.

  5. No, the UN's job is to prevent wars between countries eg. world wars. UN is S**t though because it has to rely upon countries for soldiers, weapons, etc.

  6. For some of the time, the international community trough UN or other organizations such as NATO can prevent genocides. But most of the time, it is the responsibility of the people who live in the areas where they can become a victim. For example, if a democratically elected government commit crimes, the people of that nation should stand against it and overthrow the government.

Sometimes, it is best to stand against than do nothing and wait for UN or other organizations to respond.
