Its Satan.  The devil is not in h**l yet.  He is roaming the Earth and even in the outer atmosphere (space).  God gave us all freewill but also brought the devil against us as a test.  Read the Book of Job in the Bible.  That will answer your question.

Last I read the Bible, Satan only killed only 10 people in a bet with God, after that, He has yet to make another appearance. Besides, Stan the Satan here only tempt people.

God, though, has killed over 30 billion people, and gave 'tests' to several others. So if the world is in distress, why don't people think it's God's work?

Don't you think this is a rather simplistic view of the world? The world will always be in distress, you will simply be more aware or less aware at different times in your life.  Life requires materials to sustain it and materials are limited.  In competition for those materials, conflict arises.

Neither the government nor any mythological creature has anything to do with this.  This is life.  You can temporarily escape reality with fantasies of the supernatural, but real problems require real solutions and real action.  Relegating the solution to fantastic ideations contributes more to the problem than it does to resolve them.

If you must persist in these ideas, if my thoughts offend, then focus only on the positive aspects of your mythology.  By taking responsibility for doing good in the world, you enable yourself to be a positive force.  Leave the good and evil question to whatever character you worship.  You just do the right thing.

I hate to get all negative, but satan never DOES anything wrong.  If you've noticed in the bible stories, he just ENCOURAGES unworthyness to God.  The problem and reason or distress is us.  If we want to help the world, just remember: listen to the angel on your left shoulder, not the demon on your right shoulder.
