As of right now, ONLY Shannen Daughtery and Jennie Garth are returning.  Shannen is signed on for at least 4 episodes maybe more.  Garth is onboard probably longer.  Jennie Garth, aka, Kelly Taylor will be playing a teacher/and/or guidenence counsler.  Brenda will be returning as a favor to Kelly.  Brenda had went on to become an established director in the theather and Kelly asks her to come back to direct the play at West Beverly.  Kelly has a 4 year old name Sammy and it's yet to be determined who the father is.  Kelly's mother Jackie also has a scence or 2.  Apparently she goes back to drinking and drugs and this causes a riff and Kelly wants to protect her younger 1/2 sister Erin Silver from their mother.  Nat, from the peach pit will also be returning to his role.  TORI SPELLING IS NOT RETURNING.  She had her 2nd kid in the spring and then signed up to return to the show.  Ironically, Shannen was then asked and she agreed to come back as well.  As soon as Tori got wind of this, she bailed claiming the timing wasn't good w/the birth of her daughter.  HMM??? Excuse me, the timing WAS good just weeks after giving birth and now all of a sudden it isn't?   That's b/c her and Shannen don't get along and Tori trashed her in her most recent book.  She is scarred of Shannen and that's why she bailed.

ONLY Tori Spelling. She owns a clothing store now. I'm not sure which episode will re-introduce her character, but I saw an interview with her and she said hers was the only character to be returning as a main cast member. Shannen Doherty and Jennie Garth are appearing in the first episode, but to my knowledge are not in any others. This info come from when the show was still in pre-production though.

MY guess at some point they might all be back as to help the ratings. Never watched the original so probably would have no idea as to who's returning. However I believe they will try to blend the past into the present as to get a more varied audience and better ratings!
