Who is right me or my hubby?

I didnt know where else to ask this...

I think...

People who live in Mexico are Latino and people who live in South America are not considered Latino.

My hubby thinks...

Mexican and South Americans are both Latino.

Who is right?

  3. I've been told that "Latino" is a word that doesn't just refer to one's country of origin, but that it has political connotations.  Latino refers to people who celebrate "Brown Pride" and intend to imply that they support political action for people of

    hispanic/South American origin.  So brown folks from anywhere, I think, can technically be "Latino."

    I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but that's what I've been told!  :)

  10. I've met people from Honduras, Guatemala and  Colombia who consider themselves Latino. I consider the term Latino if they are Hispanic descent but not from Spain or Cuba.
