1. Anastasia Nicolaievna Romanov was the youngest daughter of Nicholas II and Alexandra. She was the youngest grand-duchess of the Romanov family before they were murdered during the Russian Revolution during WWI.

  2. some russian disney cartoon chick

  3. There are different versions of the Anastasia story. There is a cartoon version, which I did not see which may have taken a lot of liberties with history. The true story is, she was a young daughter of the Czar of Russia, who was overthrown by the Bolsheviks (Communists) in 1917. He and his family, including several daughters and one son, were taken prisoner and later executed. In the 1920's a woman in Germany, who was in a mental hospital after a suicide attempt claimed to be her. She convinced a few of the Royal relatives, mostly German nobles who survived WWI but did not convince all of them. She called herself Anna Anderson and eventually lived in America. She was very eccentric. After she died, DNA samples from members of the European Royal family, including Prince Phillip supposedly proved Anna Anderson was not related to the Royal family. But there will always be some doubt. There was a movie in the 1950's with Ingrid Bergman and then some kind of made for TV miniseries or movie in the 80's or 90's. I can not remember who was in it.

  4. Born on June 18th 1901 in the Peterhof Palace a grand summer residence of the Russian Imperial Family. Youngest daughter of the last Russian Emperor, Tsar Nicholas II and Tsarina Alexandra. From birth she held the style and title of Her Imperial Highness Grand Duchess Anastasia Nikolaievna Romanova of Russia. From the accounts of people who knew her she was a wild and extremely funny girl. A grand daughter of Tsar Alexander III and the Tsarina Maria Feodorovna. She was extremely close to her sisters and especially her brother.

    She was murdered in 1918.

    Is now a Saint.

No matter what her parents did or didn't do, she was a child and didn't deserve death for the so called 'crimes of her parents'.

  5. Her Imperial Highness Grand Duchess Anastasia of Russia (Anastasia Nikolaevna Romanova), (Russian: Великая Княжна Анастасия Николаевна Романова) (June 18 [O.S. June 5] 1901 – July 17, 1918), was the youngest daughter of Tsar Nicholas II of Russia, the last sovereign of Imperial Russia, and his wife Alexandra Fyodorovna.

Anastasia was a younger sister of Grand Duchess Olga, Grand Duchess Tatiana and Grand Duchess Maria, and was an elder sister of Alexei Nikolaievitch, Tsarevitch of Russia. She was murdered with her family on July 17, 1918, by forces of the Bolshevik secret police.

Persistent rumors of her possible escape circulated since her death, fueled by the fact that the location of her burial was unknown during the decades of Communist rule. The mass grave near Ekaterinburg which held the remains of the Tsar, his wife, and three daughters was only revealed in 1991, but the bodies of Alexei Nikolaevich and one of his sisters -- either Anastasia or her elder sister Maria -- were not discovered there.

Her possible survival has been totally disproven. In January 2008, Russian scientists announced that the charred remains of a young boy and a young woman found near Ekaterinburg in August 2007 were most likely those of the thirteen-year-old Tsarevich and one of the four Romanov grand duchesses. Russian forensic scientists confirmed on April 30, 2008 that the remains were those of the Tsarevich Alexei and one of his four sisters.[1]

Several women have falsely claimed to have been Anastasia, the most notorious of whom was Anna Anderson. Anderson's body was cremated upon her death in 1984, but DNA testing in 1994 on available pieces of Anderson's tissue and hair showed no relation to DNA of the Grand Duchess.[2]

    [edit] Life and childhood

When Anastasia was born, her parents and extended family were disappointed to have a fourth daughter. Tsar Nicholas II went for a long walk to compose himself before going to visit Tsarina Alexandra and the newborn Anastasia for the first time.[3] One meaning of her name is "the breaker of chains" or "the prison opener".The fourth grand duchess received her name because, in honor of her birth, her father pardoned and reinstated students who had been imprisoned for participating in riots in St. Petersburg and Moscow the previous winter.[4] Another meaning of the name is "of the resurrection," a fact often alluded to later in stories about her rumored survival. Anastasia's title is most precisely translated as "Grand Princess," meaning that Anastasia, as an "Imperial Highness" was higher in rank than other Princesses in Europe who were "Royal Highnesses." "Grand Duchess" became the most widely used translation of the title into English from Russian.[5]

They slept on hard camp cots without pillows, except when they were ill, took cold baths in the morning, and were expected to tidy their rooms and do needlework to be sold at various charity events when they were not otherwise occupied. Most in the household, including the servants, generally called the Grand Duchess by her first name and patronym, Anastasia Nikolaevna, and did not use her title or "Her Imperial Highness." She was occasionally called by the French version of her name, "Anastasie," or by the Russian nicknames "Nastya," "Nastas," or "Nastenka." Other family nicknames for Anastasia were "Malenkaya," meaning "little (one),"[6] or "shvibzik," the Russian word for "imp."

Living up to her nicknames, young Anastasia grew into a vivacious and energetic child, described as short and inclined to be chubby, with blue eyes[7] and reddish-[8]blonde hair.[9] Margaretta Eagar, a governess to the four Grand Duchesses, said one person commented that the toddler Anastasia had the greatest personal charm of any child he had ever seen.[4]

While often described as gifted and bright, she was never interested in the restrictions of the school room, according to her tutors Pierre Gilliard and Sydney Gibbes. Gibbes, Gilliard, and ladies-in-waiting Lili Dehn and Anna Vyrubova described Anastasia as lively, mischievous, and a gifted actress. Her sharp, witty remarks sometimes hit sensitive spots.[10][11][9]

  6. Anastasia was a member of the royal family in Russia. She was a princess and supposedly the only survivor of a revolution.

The paranormal parts of the story occur with Rasputin who was an advisor to the Czarina. He has been termed the man who wouldn't die because of several attempts on his life which all proved futile.

The whole Anastasia story is very interesting. For once the Wikipedia article is fairly accurate

  7. Anastasia Romanoff, the youngest daughter of the last Russian monarch Czar Nicholas II, The legend is that she was the only member of the Russian royal family to survive, when they were executed in 1917. A woman emerged years later claiming she was Anastasia, and a film was made about it.

  8. Anastasia was the youngest of the four daughters of the Tsar Nicholas II and Tsarinas Alexandra of Russia. ( Tsar means King by the way.) She was the favourite sister of her younger ( and only) brother, the Crown Prince Alexei. She was born in September 1901 and was described to be beautiful with hazel eyes and brown hair. She was also known for being the most comic and funny out of the Russian princesses. Anastasia was born into a world of great wealth and prestige. She resided in the Alexander Palace and her father, Tsar Nicholas II, was said to be the richest man in the world as well as controlling 1/3 of the Earth and being the representative of God on earth. She was tomboyish however and loved putting on comedy skits and playing in the outdoors. However, despite the fairy-tale beginning of her life, Anastasia's life would take a horrific turn. After World War 1, the Russian people were truly resenting the Tsar and the royal family. While Anastasia lived lavishly, middle-class and lower-class people lived in terrible conditions. In 1917, the Russian royal family was thrown from power and Anastasia, then only 16, was taken hostage with her family. She was killed in May 1918 at the age 17 in Yekaterinburg with the rest of her family in the early morning by Russian revolutionnary soldiers. Despite being cruelly murdered, there has been many rumours that Anastasia had survived the fatale killings. This was spurred by the fact that by 1991, the bones of one of the youngest princesses and the prince was missing. Many people thought it was Anastasia or her sister, Maria, along with their brother, Alexei. Many films made of her life were very fictionalized.

In early 2008, several people found bones of a young woman and a young boy located in the woods near the house in which Anastasia had been assassinated with her family. There were many announcements that this could be the bones of the two missing royal children. In May 2008, it was confirmed that it was the bones of Anastasia and Alexei.

I know this might be really long but I thought I might as well say the whole story since she is a fascinating person!! hope this helps!
