Definitely Cliff Lee.

Josh Hamilton is a good story but he had a pretty good year last season (19 HR, 47 RBI, .292 BA) in his Rookie year.  I would consider 2008 to be his breakout year since he's not really "coming back" from anything, he just turned his life around.

Cliff Lee on the other hand was 18-5 in 2005 and 14-11 in 2006 before going 5-8 last year with a 6.29 ERA with a demotion to the minors.  He had to struggle to beat out Jeremy Sowers and Aaron Laffey for the final spot in the Indians rotation.  All he's done since then was go 16-2 with a 2.45 ERA.  Just think where he'd be with a little run support.  In 4 of his no-decisions this year he went 9 IP 0 R, 6.1 IP 2 R, 7.1 IP 1 R, 8 IP 1 R.  He could have 20 wins already.

Hamilton. I like how Cliff Lee came out of nowhere to dominate this year, but keep in mind he was in the game last year. Hamilton missed three years and he still can tear the league up.

I say Carlos Quentin. He had shoulder injuries last year, so he actually is "coming back" from something. He should be MVP also this year.

Carlos Quentin!  Even though he was playing in the NL last season on the Diamondbacks, he still has made a great comeback!  He is having an MVP season with 32 homers, and nobody realizes that he is having a great year!  Cliff Lee has also had a good comeback year and is very likely to get the Cy Young but if you compare Lee to Quentin, Carlos deserves it more because Lee has already shown his good stuff when he won 16 games in 2006 and Quentin has just comeback from being a backup outfielder who most people have not even heard of him to being an MVP candidate!  That is an incredible comeback!

Josh Hamilton. If you don't have any idea who he is, check him out. 3 years ago he was doing drugs and kicked out of baseball until he got clean. Now he's one of the best players in the game and has lead in several categories- all while doing it clean with out drugs AND steroids.
