Who is the MR.DARCY of our times?

i was just thinking who are the modern romantics of our day. Who is our new mr.darcy or is there even one? In my opinion the classic romantics from film & literature are: mr.darcy, heathcliff, rhett butler and mr. knightly. i know there are tons more classics and i would like to know your opinion. My idea of the modern romantic would be like Noah Calhoun(the notebook) or Hawkeye from the last of the mohicans or even james bond.

Mr. Darcy is incomparable. Edward Cullen has nothing on him. Darcy and Elizabeth's relationship was one of historic and realistic proportions. There will never be another Mr. Darcy.

However, some people have come close. :)

Well, no one could ever compare to Darcy! Not in a million years; he and Elizabeth are timeless and original :]

But, having said that, I understand where you're going with this question, and I definitely agree with you on the classic romantic leading men. As for modern romantic leading men of literature, I'd say those like (again agreed here) Noah Calhoun, (as another answerer said) Robbie Turner, and Fieyero from Wicked.

Well looking at peices of Literature from our times um .... good question lol... um i cant really think of anyone other than 'my guy'

I don't think there are any guys like that in the media today, because the majority of girls these days have different ideals on what makes a guy attractive. How long do you think it will take before a million people answer "Edward Cullen" to this post? If that's where our ideals have taken us, it may be a long while before we see another truly romantic hero.

But in reference to modern literature, since Pride & Prejudice is the most widely recycled story line, you can find Mr. Darcys in 1 out of every 10 books written today.

How about Robbie from Atonement? That is the best modern romance I have read in years.

yes,i love jane austen,and wish there were still real gentlemen like that these days,but they're rare. I'd have to say Badd Pitt,James Bond,Logan Bartholomew,James McAvoy,Johnny depp,adam garcia,Ma Damon,and of course the no brainer,Edward Cullen.

Mr Darcy is timeless is the problem. That is why the Pride and Prejudice remains one of the top books of all time.

There were lots of Mr. Darcy nowadays. I mean, I've seen book titles like ME AND MR. DARCY which imitates the first Mr. Darcy and another one is a trilogy (where it just lengthened) of the Pride and Prejudice.
