Question:

Who is the antagonist in Marley and Me?

i think it is Marley, but my friend says no.

any ideas?

  2. Interesting question...I never thought of the book in protagonist/antagonist terms.

    However, since an antagonist is "someone who offers opposition," I'd say Marley is the only one that fits throughout the book.

    However, the antagonist is more like that crazy part of Marley which acts against the sweet nature (protagonist); for instance, when Marley would go nuts during thunder storms. In other words, then, Marley - at different times - is both the protagonist and antagonist.

    Then again, I might be wrong... :)
