I'm reading the Lord Of The Flies for school and I don't understand who the beast is. At first, I thought it was a boar, but in my homework, it has a picture of a boy, hiding behind a tree and it says that's who the beast is, but what boy is it?

  1. I think it might b Jack...

  2. The beast is within the boys. It's the loss of civility and the inner savagery that emerges as they become more desperate for survival.

  3. Ultimately, the only beast is metaphorical. It represents the part of the  boys that turns savage and murderous. The implication is that this beast lives in all humanity, and that we're all just a deserted island away from letting those beasts out.
