Who is the best ISP?

im using verizon dsl right now, and to say the least, it is HORRIBLE! not only that, the customer services practices are just as bad. if tech support cant help you fix your problem, theyll simply tell you its a central problem and theyll look into it. as soon as you hang up, they change the status on your trouble ticket to "resolved." Not only that, it seems that they are refusing to let me register my account online to check on bilss and stuff. Nothing about verizon DSL works right, so now im trying to cancel it. im looking for a new ISP now and i was wondering which ones are best. so,

Try your cable company.  I give Verizon a try every few years, but I've never stuck with them past the 30 day trial period.  (Last time the romance lasted about 5 hours - during which time I was knocked off 7 times.  After a 2-week hassle with customer "service" that didn't speak English as well as my 5-year-old great nephew.)  I've been knocked off my cable company's service about 3 times in 7 years - and tech support, even level 1, is great.  (And I'm an engineer with decades of communications experience, so I don't ask the easy questions.)

You do not mention where you are situated. If you were in Australia there are a number of ISP's competing for your business They are all much the same but package their deals slightly differently. You should first decide what features you are looking for and then contact the different ISPs in your area and tell them what it is that you need, speed, gigabites of downloads, price range you are willing to pay. They should then be able to tell you which of their plans is most suitable for you.
