  1. I would go with Jack right now.  Tiger is dominating like Jack did but Jack won a lot of majors.Another thing to consider is the level of competition in todays game.  By the time Tiger retires he will be the best hands down.

  2. 1.  Jack

    2.  Tiger

    3.  Ben

    4. Arnold

    5.  Seve

Jack played against better talent and dominated play.  Tiger is a great front runner but he has yet come back from behind (1986 Masters).  Hogan should have died in the car accident and he came back to win majors with horrible legs.  Arnold could have won more tournaments but he played with one speed - all ahead full.  Seve won Masters and British Opens so he deserves to recognize as a great golfer.  Also look up some of Seve's trick shots he used in tournaments.

  3. Tiger. No question. Already he has put up similar numbers to the guy s you mentioned. Other names you mentioned were great, but tiger has accomplished all that he has at such a young age. By the end of his career, he will hands down have better numbers than any other golfer ever.  Also, from a golfing skills standpoint, he dominates them.

  4. tiger woods is best hands down

  5. Jack Nicklaus is the best golfer of those mentioned. He won more major tournaments, had more runner up finishes in majors, dominated  the PGA tour for a great number of years when competition was very good. Tiger Woods has done very well and must be considered in the # 2 spot.. Seve should be replaced with Snead and Walter Hagen. Palmer popularized the game and Player always blew his own horn. Hogan was the man of his time and more so when he achieved after a horrible accident.

  6. Tiger Woods is the greatest player of all time.  No one has ever dominated golf, or any sport for that matter, as completely and for as long as Tiger has.  Major victories don't matter even though he will beat Nicklaus one day.  He completely revolutionized the game of golf.  How many PGA golfers hit the gym 5 days a week 15 years ago, and I guarantee that about 90% of the golfers that picked up the game in the last 10 years did so at least in part because of him.

  7. Until Tiger gets to 20 majors or so, I'd say Jack with a close second being Tiger.  Jack has 18 majors, but he has so many runner ups at majors.  Tiger has 13 majors, but only 5 runner-ups.  So either hes dominating at the majors or doing horribly.  Jack always dominated.

  8. i would take jack right now but in 10 years if tiger is still playing like hes capable then tiger for sure.

  9. nicklaus

  10. From those six I woul pick Hogan.  But you need to define "best".  Are you talking about number of wins, number of majors, ball striking, who has done the most for the game?  Woods is on top right now, but he has done little for the game of golf.  Purses are up on the tour, but junior golf is down big time during his era which does not bode well for the future of the game (meaning all players, not just pros on tour).

  11. woods

  12. I would have to say Tiger...but you left a couple great options off of your list.  What about Walter Hagen and Sam Snead?

Player and Seve shouldnt even be mentioned with these other guys.

  13. Woods.
