In, what sport? if we are talking about being athletism(not on how well you dunk or kick, but just that) than who ever is the best in gymnastics no doubt!

Athlete is defined as a sportsperson in the general sense. That means you can't choose someone like Tiger Woods, who has excelled in only one or two aspects of athleticism. That means the answer is Bo Jackson. Period. Bo was the best defensive outfielder of his time.. like andrew jones in his prime. Not only that but Bo was hitting 25-30 home runs in a period where 50 home runs was unheard of until Mark McGwire and Jose Canseco came into the league and ruined the record books with steroids. Bo won the Heisman trophy. Watch a highlight reel of his, it'll convince you. Think about this.. Ladainian Tomlinson has averaged 4.5 yards per carry for his career.. Bo Jackson averaged 5.4 yards per carry. That means if Bo were healthy, he would have destroyed Emmitt Smith's career rushing mark. Sorry Michael Jordan, but your attempt at baseball was pitiful. Michael Phelps has not demonstrated any form of hand-eye coordination, one of sports' greatest requirements. He's not even in the running. You could consider Carl Lewis, look at what he did for a number of track & field events. However, Bo was clocked at 4.12 in the 40. Deion Sanders ran a 4.18. That means Bo could have been a world-class sprinter as well. You can't even argue with Bo. He had it all: speed, power, agility, hand-eye coordination, and strength (see him run over Brian Bosworth?).
