Who is the best australia wallabies rugby player?

i'm new to the sport...but i have started supporting the wallabies and was curious as to who their best player was. Also what is the top league in Australia? Thanks!!!

Stirling Mortlock is our best player. By top league if you meant most supported football code it would be AFL followed by Rugby League followed by Rugby Union. But if you just meant best league in Union then that would be the Super 14 which is a make up of teams from Aust, NZ and Sth Africa.

Couldn't name just one best player, so I'll name a few.  Of those who have retired the best I have seen are - John Eales, Nick Farr-Jones, Tim Horan & David Campese.  Of those that are still playing, I would have to say Chris Latham (my favourite player) Stirling Mortlock, George Gregan & George Smith.  

There is the Super 14 competition that we have 4 teams in - Reds (QLD), Brumbies (ACT), Waratahs (NSW) & Force (WA).  These teams compete against provincial teams from New Zealand and South Africa.  

Apart from Super 14, each state has their own club rugby competitions.  Also there is a new competition that has started up recently, just not to sure of what it is called.
