  1. I don't know if you are asking about ODI situation or test match situation because both are different. The qualifying number of matches also have not been indicated. Let us take the ODI situation and atleast 10 ODIs during the last one year. IMO, the following are the top 4.

    1) Shivnarine Chanderpaul: 13 matches, 8 innings, 598 runs.

    2) SR Tendulkar: 22 matches, 21 innings, 936 runs.

    3) Matthew Hayden: 16 matches, 15 innings, 634 runs.

    4) Brendan McCullum: 21 matches, 18 innings, 969 runs.

Ofcourse, ICC has declared MS Dhoni as the best. Dhoni has played 36 matches, 32 innings, 8 not out and scored 1,316 runs.

Let us see the form in test matches. Let us fix the minimum norm as 4 test matches in the last one year. IMO. the best 4 batsmen are as under:

    1) Virender Sehwag: 8 matches, 14 innings, 1,002 runs.

    2) Mahela Jayawardene: 10 matches, 15 innings, 1,127 runs.

    3) Shivnarine Chanderpaul: 8 matches, 9 innings, 819 runs.

    4) Neil McKenzie: 10 matches, 15 innings, 960 runs.

There is one player who is figuring in both the lists. Let us declare him as the current best batsman. The name is:

    SHIVNARINE CHANDERPAUL.

  2. i think it would be either sachin tandukar or kevien petterson

  3. Kumar sangakkara

  4. on his day i reckon KP is the best batsmen in the world. the innings that come to mind is the ashes 2005 where he destroyed everything brett lee bowled to him in his 158. and also one of his first odi series against south africa i think he hit 3 100s in a 5 odi series

  5. if if u see the current crickters the best in tests are sehwag and smith ,

and in one days are dhoni and micheal hussey.

    i like KP too .

  6. I have to say Dhoni, as he always looks in control at the crease and has reallly matured and can shift gears so easily

but my favourite player is Smith atm bcuz of that 100 against england, as soon as he came out you knew he was going to win the match for SA

  7. Definatly Shiverine Chanderpaul..

  8. Mine in Chanderpaul

  9. Brian Lara

  10. smith

    chanderpaul

    jayasurya

    ponting

    heyden

    clark

    dhoni

    best of luck!!

    keep smiling:)))))

  11. grame smith

  12. undoubtedly it has to be sachin tendulkar.

  13. Chanderpaul.

  14. You would have to look at the Australian pair in Ponting and Clarke. Pietersen is also doing well. On overall form you would be hard pressed to go past these as being the best batsmen. Chanderpaul always plays well but at the moment is not as good as the above.

  15. id say me but i only worked up till state lvl and im only 13years old.

but it has to be brendon mccallum

  16. Dhoni
