  1. Thats an easy question, Rocky Marciano was the best ever!!

  2. I agree with the guy about Floyd..Right now it is hard to say who the best is, many fighters today like Mayweather are going strong and could be considered the "Ali" or "Rocky" of today.  But times can bring change...remember when everyone thought Tito was going to be the next big thing, even Tyson or Roy...but Tito's lost it, Tyson is just plain crazy and Roy don't know when to quit.  Though one fighter who has impressed me throughout his career is George Foreman.

  3. In his prime - Tyson Best of all times. No argument/

  4. i give best boxer of all time title to ray leonard.

right now the best id floyd mayweather jr.  with joe calzaghe in close 2nd.

juan diaz will eventually be known as the best of all time.

  5. Please guys, don't forget The Great Ray "Sugar" Robinson.  Considered the best fighter of all time

  6. definately not tyson, he beat nobody but bums, and when he fought a good boxer like lennox lewis and holyfield he got beat down. also some bouncer named kevin mcbride beat him by tko and he wasnt even a boxer. the best boxer ever was ROCKY MARCIANO 49-0. NEVER LOST ONE FIGHT.

  7. Of all time? Rocky Marciano....Undefeated! No Debate!

    Tyson, Maybe!

    Ali, Frazier, Holmes, NAHHH

    Marciano

  8. marciano he was the best!

  9. sugar ray robinson is the best pound for pound of all time.

he could box, punch, counterpunch on the retreat, fast hands, great movement...he could do it all.

  10. Sugar Ray Robinson was the total package, the reason for the phrase "pound for pound", before that it was always assumed that the Heavyweight champion was the best.

  11. Mike Tyson. In his prime he was an undefeatable beast.

  12. Mohamed Ali no other best

  13. Mike Tyson

  14. Today, currently active, it's Floyd Mayweather, all time it's Sugar Ray Robinson.

  15. Rocky Marciano as a Boxer but as greatest fighter of all time I go with Sugar Ray Robinson. The man had speed, a hard punch and could take any type of boxing style he went up against.

  16. i didn't see a lot of the old boxers. i'm 36 and from my point of view ...

ali was great and whitaker was a close second.

tyson, sugar ray, hagler ... just a level below them

there are other very good fighters but the 5 above actually fought other greats. mayweather, dela hoya, jones ... just to name 3 fighters who has not fought top quality opponents. pacman, who does not have a belt but look at his fights. he just fights who ever is the contender, a lot of quality fights.

jones and mayweather could put themselves as the greatest but the boxers they face must just does not help them. mayweather is changing however. now he is starting to get it ... dela hoya ( almost too old but good enough ), hatton ( was undefeated ) ... there's more now - cotto should be next! then we can put mayweather in the conversation

  17. If you're asking for the best boxer of all time, then it is without a doubt Sugar Ray Robinson- ask any boxing historian and they will tell you he is the best of all time pound for pound.  If you're asking for currently, then it is Floyd Mayweather, Jr.

  18. Mike Tyson

Expectations for Tyson were extremely high, and he embarked on an ambitious campaign to fight all the top heavyweights in the world. Tyson defended his title against James 'Bonecrusher' Smith on March 7, 1987, in Las Vegas, Nevada. He won by unanimous decision and added Smith's World Boxing Association (WBA) title to his existing belt.'Tyson mania' in the media was becoming rampant. He beat Pinklon Thomas in May with a knockout in the sixth round. On August 1 he took the International Boxing Federation (IBF) title from Tony Tucker in a twelve round unanimous decision. He became the first heavyweight to own all three major belts — WBA, WBC, and IBF — at the same time. His only other fight in 1987 was in October against the 1984 Olympic Super Heavyweight gold medalist Tyrell Biggs, that ended with a victory for Tyson by knockout in the seventh round. Also in 1987, Nintendo released the video game, Mike Tyson's Punch-Out!!, for its Nintendo Entertainment System. Punch-Out!! is an early example of a video game endorsed by a professional athlete.

    Or

    Muhammed Ali

As might be expected, there is no consensus among boxing experts and historians as to who is the greatest heavyweight boxer of all time. Ring Magazine, a prominent boxing magazine, named Muhammad Ali as number 1 in a 1998 ranking of greatest heavyweights from all eras. However, in a 1971 article Nat Fleischer, the founder of the Ring who saw every heavyweight champion from Jim Jeffries to Joe Frazier, refused to include Ali in his all-time top ten, saying: "he does not qualify for rating with the greatest heavyweights of all time". It should be noted though that Fleischer was writing after Ali's loss to Frazier, several years before his performance against Foreman and rematches with Frazier. Further, despite Ali having changed his name seven years previously Fleischer was still using the name Clay.

Recently, Ali was named the second greatest fighter in boxing history by ESPN.com behind only welterweight and middleweight great Sugar Ray Robinson. In December of 2007, ESPN listed its choice of the greatest heavyweights of all time. Ali was second on this list also behind Joe Louis, despite the fact that the earlier poll placed Ali ahead of Louis.
