I've seen Anna Kournikova play (in person) and I think she is an excellent tennis player.

At first I was going to say there really isn't anyone that you can claim is the best hardcourt player, but in retrospect, Serena has won 5 grandslam titles on the hardcourts, so I think that kind of makes Serena the best hardcourt player of this generation  (I know I may have to take some slack for this but I stand by it) along with Venus being the best grass court and Henin being the best clay court

well...to answer accurately serena Willams has won the most hardcourt slams..... especially at the Australian Open.. but at the US OPEN... if u are talking more of that.. she has not won there since 2002!

Both the willam sisters have poor luck at the US OPEN.. the last 5 years or so..

i would say for the last 2 years sharpova is the best hardcourt player.. she goes on the biggest win streaks on hard court...

overall though, for more slams i say serena...

I still would have to put my money on Sharapova. Ivanovic is also pretty good, but Sharapova hits harder and has more accurate shots.

The Williams sisters can't be counted out either. They may be busy and injured most of the time, but they still are threats. Serena beat Sharapova in the Aussie '07.

Well all the top players excel on hardcourts, which isn't surprising considering that the overwhelming majority of tournaments are played on hardcourts these days.  But to pick the best out of the bunch, I would have to go with Sharapova, Serena, and Venus, not necessarily in that order, based on their grand slam records on hardcourts (which I'm including the Australian Open, although it is a totally different kind of hardcourt from the U.S. Open).
