  1. Pujols. The fact that he can perform in the clutch gives him the advantage.

  2. Alex Rodriguez vs Albert Pujols

This is a hard match up but in my opinion it'd Alex Rodriguez (A-Rod) because he isn't a better hitter but he is a better fielder. Also, teams would pay Alex more money than Pujols  because A-Rod has more experience in the game of baseball. That is my opinion but highly Albert can shine sometimes but my perspective is that A-Rod is the man but i would pick Cardinals over the Yankees.

  3. Pujols

Just going by OPS+, All of Pujols seasons exceed Arod's average and 3 of them exceed Arod's best season

If Arod breaks Bonds' HR record, Pujols will just break Arod's.

  4. oh come on! This is super easy! Pujols may go down as one of the greatest all around hitters ever especially right handed.  A Rod has never consistently hit for the average that Pujols does every year.  Don't always compare stats people.  Put Pujols on the offense that A Rod has been on and he would have even more RBI's than he has with the Cardinals.  Do you guys even watch the games?? Pujols is constantly pitched around almost every at bat and he does not strikeout for a slugger. A Rod is clearly a better all around player and may end up hitting more career home runs  but Pujols will go down as one of the greats ever especially in the modern era.

  5. Alex Rodriguez vs. Albert Pujols:

    - These are the two best hitters in the league in my opinion. Both are amazing in their own right, but I do believe one is better. I have estimated (if they keep the same pace), what their career stats, 18 full years, would be at the end. Here is what I have come up with:

    Average: Arod- .307 Pujols- .333

    Homers: Arod- 749 Pujols- 689

    RBI's: Arod- 2168 Pujols- 2106

    Hits: Arod- 3255 Pujols- 3318

Now I know stats aren't everything, but they prove points at least. Although, after looking at this, the decision gets even harder. Obviously Arod has power, while Pujols has the better contact abilities. In fact, Pujols has the best average over the past 8 years than anyone in the league, hard to believe, but quite true. The other big factor to this is clutch hitting.

    RISP w/ 2 outs: Pujols- .327 ARod- .271

Postseason average: Pujols- .323 ARod- .279

Now this seperates them a little. As you can see, the clutch numbers go to Pujols clearly. So overall, Arod has unbelievable power that really no one else rivals, while Pujols has the contact and clutch that overcome Rodriguez. In total, I believe that Albert Pujols is the better hitter, and the best hitter in baseball due to his consistency, clutch hitting, contact abilities, and consistent power numbers. He has it all folks!

  6. Now, most people were applying to A-Rod answer because of his career numbers. But check out Albert's numbers.

A-Rod: 33 Years old 14 Years of MLB Experience

Pujols: 28 Years old 7 Years of MLB Experience

A-Rod: 544 Career HR Pujols: 306 Career HR

A-Rod: 1573 Career RBI Pujols 936 Career RBI

When you do the math it has taken A-Rod 14 years to reach 544 HR When it has take Pujols half the time to 56.25 Percent of A-Rod's Career HR. That is more than half. At the pace that Pujols is going he should have 612 HR by the time he has A-Rod's Experience in the MLB. Albert already has almost 60% of A-Rod's RBI numbers in half the time.

  7. Pujols.  Pujols should be the one with higher payroll.  His abilities are ridiculous

  8. Albert!!!
