I have to annotate at least TWO poems by a non-American, non-British poet (and write a one page outline of the poet with essential data such as dates, place or origin, era, etc). I don't know who I should research. Any recommendations? Thanks in advance!

  1. Goethe for sure, and maybe Schiller

  2. You don't say if the poet has to be an English speaker. I will assume not. What about a French poet? Victor Hugo:

    Baudelaire:

    Ronsard:

  3. Matsuo Basho - Japanese, reinvented Haiku, brought back older forms of poetry to medieval Japan 1644-1694

    Jorge Borgas - Argentinian 1899-1986
