Stevens is the best at that!

BUT Bill McCreary CRUSHED Gretzky back in '81

Stevens was alwasy counted on to be in the highlight reel (atleast once a week). Konstantinov was a tree as well, but didn't hit as often as Stevens, and his career was shortened. Lets not count out Cam Neely, he could throw the body around too, I was just a kid when he retired but always used to see him in the Don Cherry's Rock em Sock em movies.

Phaneuf is one of the best current players. Kronwall, he was a machine in this year's playoffs.

Gary Roberts was always a physical type of player but not so much in the open ice for the big hit, more a grinder on the boards.

I'm a huge Wings fan, but...gotta say it was Stevens.  Anybody crossing center ice with their head down was just begging to be on SportsCenter as long as Stevens was on the ice.

Scott Stevens I still remember that open ice hit he game to Lindros in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Finals back when they won their 2nd Stanley Cup.

Amazingly in the 3rd year the Devils won the Cup Karyia took an open ice hit from Stevens and still came back out on to the ice of game 6 to score a goal in Anaheim.

One would think Lindros would take the hit better than Paul would but talk about strange eh?
