Eddie Murphy laid the ground work for the others to follow in his path, so I would have to say him.I do however like the other two just as well, but there has to be a pioneer, who is a forefather ( of sorts).

Chris Rock tries too hard and his voice annoys me. Martin Lawrence is an ok actor but not a good comedian.
