  1. Idk. There are a lot of good pitchers in the majors. I go with Cole Hamels but that only because he plays on the Phillies. I know he's probably not the best pitcher.

  2. Best Starting pitcher..

    Justin Duchscherer of the Oakland A's..

    ERA = 1.87*

    WHIP = 0.89*

    though he has only a 10-6 record, 5 of his 6 losses came when he gave up 2 runs or less. The A's are currently the 6th worst run producing team in the majors.

    * = league leading among starting pitchers

    Best Reliever...

    Mariano Rivera of the New York Yankees..

    ERA = 1.21

    WHIP = 0.67**

    Mariano is having perhaps his greatest season ever.

    He currently has 4 wins to go along with 25 saves & he has only walked 4 batters in 44.2 innings.

    ** = league leading among closers

  3. Josh Beckett

  4. Roy Halladay is up there, that's for sure.  Somebody mentioned Ben Sheets...which I would agree with if the guy could stay healthy.  When he is healthy, he is one of the best.  The same goes with Rich Harden.

    It's hard to say who the best is.  Nobody has mentioned Trevor Hoffman yet...he's up at the top

  5. A couple years back I went to a Jays game and Halladay pitched a complete game shutout in about 1 hours and 50 minutes. You have to watch him to see just how good he really is. ( ^^^ Duke isn't even his clubs ace.  ^^^ )

  6. Greg Maddux hands down.  Anyone that can have as good of a career as he did without having an incredible fastball or a nasty curveball proves he's a great pitcher.  Not to mention 17 straight Gold Gloves doesn't hurt either.

  7. Roy Halladay. He's just been unbelievable this year. Maybe he doesn't have the most wins or lowest ERA, but he's pitched the most innings and has more than twice as many complete games as any other pitcher in baseball.

  8. Mariano Rivera

    heres his stats to back it up

  9. I think it is either:

    Roy Halladay - always lights out and can pitch the whole game if they need him to

    Tim Hudson - his record doesn't show how good he is...he has more quality starts than anyone in baseball this year, and he is a potential HOFer if he keeps pitching like he has

    Ben Sheets - gets injured a lot, but not for very long typically...he probably has the nastiest curve i have ever seen...he strikes out a whole lot of people and rarely lets in runs...plus he can go the whole game too...

  10. Tim Lincecum is a such a dominant pitcher. I always hear players say how great of a young pitcher he is, and some people compare him to pedro martinez

  11. Assuming you mean "currently in the majors"

    Best career: Greg Maddux

    Best at the moment: Roy Halladay
