I'm not just saying that because I am a die hard Laker fan,

I am also saying that because he's lead the Lakers from this team that had NO CHANCE of being in the finals after Shaq left and Rudy was coaching,

to this team that the NBA now respects and has high hopes for.

Kobe is the most overrated player ever in the NBA. He couldn't do anything in the finals. The best is THE TRUTH Paul Pierce. His defense on Kobe was superb. "KB24" can't handle the truth.

You know how many times I've seen this question here?

However, this question deserves an in-depth look at this one.

As far as just best player of all time, this has to be a four way tie. Many people can say players like Wilt Chamberlain, Bill Russel, Michael Jordan, and Larry Bird. All four were great stars, so it's pretty much pick your poison on this one. Chamberlain was the only player who scored 100 points in a game(which will never be beaten), Bill Russel has like, 11 championships, Jordan had 6 and averaged 30 ppg, and Larry Bird has 3 championships, 2 MVP Awards, and probably the best white NBA Superstar of all time(not trying to be racist here, apologies to people who believe so.)

For me, it has to be Michael Jordan. He was very fun to watch how he always shook off his defenders, not to mention this guy could play some defense. Ever see Larry Bird play? Pull out your NBA Champions DVD and check out the 81', 84', 86', and 87' Finals and you will see(81' and 86' against the Rockets, and 84' and 87' against the Lakers). He was entertaining too.

As far as the best player still playing today, you may only have to currently look at 2 players: Kobe Bryant and LeBron James. Those guys can play. If Kobe can get a really good team, and his 2009 squad looks really good, and LeBron James can bring his team together, then they will win some championships soon.

Right now, it would be Bryant, with James a very close second.

well it depends overall i would say LeBron, assist man Nash, scoring Kobe, rebounding EH prolly Howard. But LeBron James can do all of that and none of those guys can. Nash doesn't rebound..Kobe doesn't assist..Howard doesn't assist. All the guys i mentioned are outstanding athletes but i personally think (even though he doesn't have a ring YETTTTTTT) it's LeBron for Best NBA player currently
