Who is the best player without a PGA Tour win?
People do not size up players with their fame and money in golf, instead they size them up with the number of titles that they have bagged.
There are many talented and skilful players on the PGA Tour who have earned some amount of money but they are not yet crowned as tour winners.
Here, we look at the some of the players who have shown promise but they have not yet won on the tour.
Brendon De Jonge
Many rate the Zimbabwean as the best on the PGA Tour to have not yet won a title. Brendon has shown talent, skills and great promise. His results have been on the rise since last year.
He made many cuts this year, which shows that he is becoming more and more consistent as his career progresses, but will he ever be able to win on the tour?
De Jonge has up till now started 146 tour events and out of those, he has finished inside top 25 a staggering 37 times.
More importantly, he has been finishing the FedEx Cup outside the top-60 since 2009 but winning on the tour also demands some luck.
At the recently finished Justin Timberlake’s Shriners for Hospital Open, the Zimbabwean secured the second spot. He is also eyeing the 2013 Presidents Cup team, which is being captained by his childhood idol, Nick Price.
Jeff Overton
Jeff is another player who has earned a hefty amount but has not yet won a title on the Tour. So far, Overton has four second-place finishes, three thirds, 24 top-10s.
This clearly shows that he can play on the PGA Tour and one day, he will certainly win a title.
The 29-year-old has come close on many occasions but for some reason or the other he could not finish the game properly.
Nicolas Colsaerts
The Belgian impressed everybody at the Ryder Cup when he bombarded those long drives. However, Colsaerts has not won on the PGA Tour up till now.
The skill and level of his game is certainly very high but his performances on the PGA Tour are not yet up to the mark.
Perhaps, the reason is that he is not a regular member of the PGA Tour. The moment he becomes a permanent member, he will start winning on the Tour.
Charlie Wi
Charlie Wi is a name of consistency. For last six years on the trot, the guy has been finishing inside the top 100 for the money earned list.
27% of his career finishes are inside the top 25 but still he is unable to win the tournaments.
It seems that Wi possesses everything that is needed for a victory on the tour, it is just the luck that is not on his side.
Earlier this year, Wi had a three-shot lead at the Pebble Beach before Phil Mickelson dazzled the field with his breath taking shots. Now that is what you call unlucky. However, many tip him to win a title some day.
