ell, i would say howard, but he doesnt have many post moves. he is just a dominant center who can just get the ball and throw it down. i would have to go with tim duncan. he has moves AND he can throw it down. both are really good defencively, so i give the overall edge to duncan.

it depends because post players vary such as dwight howard who only dunks or dirk who only shoots. i would say that the best back to the basketball post player is either tim duncan or carlos boozer.

duncan and boozer and true back to basket posts. they do most of their damage inside. while others like garnett or dirk depend a little too much on their outside shot. amare and dwight depend on their athleticism. boozer and duncan have skill and they are polished which is why they are the best post player in the nba today.

It would have to be Tim Duncan.  Amare is a powerful finisher around the rim- but he really doesn't have that much of a post-game- he's more of a power type of player and gets a lot of his points from fast breaks, put backs and open 10 foot jumpers.  Tim gets a lot more of his points with his back to the basket and he has done it consistently over a long period of time.  

Amare is a rising star- but i can think of quite a few other players whose post game is better including:  Yao Ming, LaMarcus Aldridge, etc.

tim duncan may be more fundamental,

but KG will shake you up down there big time

Howard.  More overpowering in the post than Duncan.  Ducan is a more finesse player.  But I think the post man should be a dominating force down low that you just can't stop.
