Neil Jenkins holds the highest points record for a back...so he's the best back ever..

Unless you are going on stuff that has little or no relevance the two best players in the world are these two welsh international point scoring machines..

Simple. Bryan Habana, at the 2007 RWC, showed that he is the best winger and player. Speed(explosive and enduring), Strength(for his size hes very strong), Skill(side-stepping and his kicking game is maturing).

you can't possibly select the greatest player in the world for rugby, as every position is so different. if you were to say who is the greatest first five or something similar, however...

i guess though, the biggest name in world rugby atm is probably dan carter.

I don't think you can judge a player on the number of points he has scored as you are judging just one element of the game. In addition it favours players who have had long careers rather than those just starting out. In addition the question is based very much in the present.

For me the best player is Bakkies Botha.
