  1. miguel tejada

  2. ahhh...opinions...okay...i'll say this...during ozzie smith's career, he was adored and rightly so...but during that same period, if i was starting a team with a young shortstop from the national league?  i'd take barry larkin over ozzie every time...just my opinion, but it's sure nice to have a guy who is both great on defense and can hit, too...

and there were a lot of good ones mentioned here, so take your pick...again, this is fun stuff...

  3. Hanley Ramirez hands down

  4. Hanley Ramirez. Anyone who says Jeter should try watching a game for the first time.

  5. Omar Visquel

  6. Hanley Ramirez

  7. overall its Omar Vizquel...he is simply amazing

  8. alex rodriguez....oh sorry he was the best SS then that douchbag derek jeter made him move to 3B...now i'd have to say hanley ramirez.

  9. All time- Honus Wagner (the numbers are there, people)

Defensively- Ozzie Smith (it's all about making the most plays, not the prettiest plays, which is why Ozzie will always get the nod over the overrated Omar every time)

    Offensively- Alex Rodriguez

Currently- Jimmy Rollins (are there any other galvanizing middle infielders who sport MVP awards not named Alex Rodriguez?)

  10. jimmy rollins

  11. Hanley Rameriz =]

  12. MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE... runner up jed lowrie

  13. Defensively - The Wizard of Oz (Ozzie Smith)

Offensively - Hanley Ramirez or Michael Young(Mr. Clutch)

  14. Jose Reyes.

  15. Defensively (STRICTLY speaking): Adam Everett is great. When he's not on the DL, which hasn't  been a whole lot in the past 2 seasons.

  16. Honus Wagner-All time

Jetter-Defensively-(He give his body for the game. like diving in the seats twice)

Hanley Ramírez-Offensively(this year he has the numbers)

Currently- A-Rod (But since hes 3rd i will have to say J-Roll)

  17. Jose Reyes, speed wise.

  18. Hanley Ramirez can hit,  steal and hit for power, but I have to give to Jimmy Rollins because he can do all that (30 hr 38 2b 20 3B, 41 SB .296 avg last year) and is also a leader and great defensive shortstop.  Ramirez needs to improve in that area.

  19. Defensively or offensively?

Offensively it's gotta be Hanley Ramirez.

Defensively, it's gotta be Orlando Cabrera, for sure.

  20. Hanley is a  future Hall of Famer.  Best is yet to come.
